The colours are bursting through at this time of year, flowers are bursting with vibrancy while Forest Bathing in Hampshire at this time of year it’s truly wonderful, with The New Forest and so many more woodlands in the Shire.
Their blooms crying out for our attention, look at me, I’m the brightest, I’m the flounciest, come gaze at my ruffles.
Shrubs are getting plump and round with their shoots stretching for the skies.
Leaves are casting their dappled shade for us to laze under as they flutter in a gentle breeze.
Whispering gentle tones into our ears and filling your sense of sight with wonder.
The greens are many, shiny, waxy, sharp and varying hues. Sitting there in the middle of the colour spectrum, green is the most visible colour, especially from a distance.
Giving us feelings of abundance, peace, security, freshness, growth, honesty.
It can help us to concentrate, which is why Forest Bathing helps to improve our focus, gives us a sense of calm and wellbeing too.
Apparently is why celebrities stay in The Green Room. Makes sense I suppose.
When you’re out and about take time to notice all the alternating tones and tints on show.
Start on the ground, the greens around your feet, from the weeds in the cracks of the pavements, the moss on the wall or tree trunks.
What’s around at the bus stop, the walk to the train, the shifting shades on the grass. The more you look the easier you’ll notice.
Move gradually to eye level.
Noticing people’s front gardens, the tall thick stems or the gangly ones fighting to stay upright.
The difference between the leaf shapes from plants to trees to shrubs. You’ll seriously be amazed at what you’ve never really noticed before.
If you’re standing waiting, hopefully, you’re near some trees, look up, really look up.
Follow the tree trunk and allow your eyes to filter in the greens from the leaves, darting your gaze between the blue and white of the sky and clouds.
Allow yourself time to ignite your sense of sight. Allow yourself to SEE rather than look.
Once you’ve taken notice you’ll SEE the greens, nature, calm and freshness all the time.
A bit like when you decide what new car, dress, food to buy. You suddenly start seeing them everywhere.
Allow this to happen, but never rush it. Observe the GREEN, pay it some attention.
Feel yourself relax inside.
The GREENS of nature all giving us magical moments if you allow them
